You are what you think
If you think you are beaten, you are.
If you think you dare not, you don’t.
If you like to win but think you can’t,
It’s almost a cinch you won’t.
If you think you’ll lose, you’re lost.
For out in the world we find
Success begins with a fellow’s will
It’s all in the state of mind.
If you think you are outclassed, you are.
You’ve got to think high to rise.
You’ve got be sure of yourself before
You can even win the prize.
Life’s battles don’t always go
To the stronger or faster man.
But sooner or later, the man who wins
Is the man who thinks he can.—CW LongeneckerThe above poem was printed on a newspaper “the Himalayan times” to be precise some five years back I was then suffering from an illness in the words of my father I escaped from the clutches of death that was fast closing and was on the hard journey of recovery. I read and reread the words, something un-explain-able positive happened so I cut out the poem covered it with transparent duct tape and kept it in the book I use the most “Oxford dictionary”; to gain a little inspiration every time I search for word-meaning.
